Why join the AGC of Missouri? The Associated General Contractors of Missouri is the leading organization in Missouri representing heavy, highway and municipal utility contractors and their suppliers. Founded in 1925, AGC allows Missouri contractors to speak to the Governor, state Legislature and state agencies with a unified voice on matters of public polity affecting the industry. The Chapter provides information and services to its members to help them improve and excel in day to day operations. AGC guides its members in the fields of labor relations, legislation, and training programs while providing networking opportunities through various social events. Professional contractors doing road, street, waterlines, bridge and other construction belong to the AGC. Since 1925 the AGC has provided the leadership to pass funding proposals, eliminate or less regulatory burdens, and help change specifications on behalf of the industry. If you aren't a member, you are not doing your part. How do I become a member? How much does it cost? You may become a member of AGC by completing a membership application. We have three types of membership: Regular Contractor Membership; Associate Contractor Membership or Affiliate (Supplier) Membership. Regular Contractor members pay an annual fee of $1000 in addition to dues paid based on work volume; Associate Contractor members pay an annual fee of $1000; Affiliate members pay an annual fee of $525. We provide many opportunities to network with other contractors and suppliers on a casual basis. Each month prior to the MoDOT Highway Letting, the Affiliates sponsor a reception that is open to all members. Our annual convention is held in the spring of each year, during the convention we hold our annual AGC MO PAC Auction. The annual barbecue is held each summer. The Young Executives Club sponsors numerous activities including a football outing/tailgate party; a fall golf outing; and a trap/skeet tournament. How can I obtain the Chapter's Membership Directory? You may call AGC at 573-636-3188 to request a Directory. What services does AGC of Missouri offer in the field of labor relations? The AGC of Missouri can be one of the best tools to help you, whether union or open shop. The AGC spearheads labor negotiations with Teamsters, Operation Engineers, Carpenters and Laborers on behalf of the industry all around Missouri. Other labor services include contractor interpretation and the monitoring of wage determinations by the Missouri Division of Labor Standards and predeterminations by the U.S. Dept. of Labor. How can I find a contractor or supplier in another state? You may search for contractors and suppliers nationwide on-line through the AGC of America web page at www.agc.org. How can I receive information on building contracting in Missouri? AGC of Missouri represents federal and heavy, highway, and municipal and utility contractors and their suppliers. You may obtain information on building contractors from the Kansas City Chapter AGC at 816-531-4743. The phone number for their Jefferson City office is 573-893-3307. How do I get a copy of the prevailing wage rate for a specific project? Contact the public body involved in the project for an official copy of the prevailing wage rates that were made part of the bid specifications for that project.
