AGC plans to present one $2,500 scholarship to applicants from AGC member companies who desire a career in the construction industry. The Young Executive's Club also sponsors a $2,000 college scholarship and a $1,500 scholarship for a student attending a construction related vocational or technical school. All scholarships are CASH AWARDS to be used where the student had his/her family determine it is needed most. Total number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the AGC Education Committee upon review of applications.

All scholarships are open to the son or daughter of any employee of an AGC member company and to employees of such member firms.

Applicants may be in any year of study and may be attending school in Missouri or a contiguous state. Only full-time students in academic and certain vocational programs are eligible to apply. Academic majors in technical and non-technical stubjects may qualify as being construction related. This competition is not just for engineering or construction management students.

Eligibility:

  1. Applicants must be one of the following: the son or daughter of an owner or employee of an AGC of Missouri member company; or an owner or employee of such a member firm;
  2. Applicants must attend, on a full-time basis, a Missouri college, university or other eligible school or such an institution which is located in a state contiguous to Missouri.
  3. Graduating high school seniors and college undergraduate or graduate students may apply.
  4. Students attending accredited universities, colleges, community colleges and vocational or technical schools are eligible to apply. Vocational and technical school students must be pursuing a program requiring one academic year or more for certification.
  5. Applicants must desire a career in the construction industry upon graduation. Eligibility is not limited to students pursuing technical degrees. AGC of Missouri retains the right to determine if a major or program in which the student is enrolled meets this eligibility requirement.
Application:

  1. Applicants must complete an application furnished by AGC of Missouri, including financial need information, provide official high school and college transcripts, provide references, complete an essay on their desire to work in the construction industry and be willing to submit to a personal interview.
  2. Previous recipients in multi-year programs may reapply each year.
  3. Applications, transcripts, reference forms and other required material must be received in the AGC of Missouri Office or postmarked by May 1.
