No Yelling: The 9 Secrets of Marine Corps Leadership (by Wally Adamchik)
www.beafirestarter.com
US Marines are known and respected the world over for their leadership ability. How do they do it? What do they know that enables them to be such successful leaders on active duty and then in the civilian sector? This presentation reveals the nine essential behaviors that make up the foundation of leadership. The experiences shared in over 100 interviews with current and former Marines illustrate the importance of balancing the elements of influence and control. Loaded with examples of what this leadership looks like, and how to do it in the trenches, on the shop floor, and in the office. While other leadership presentations talk about having a strategy, NO YELLING shows you how to execute the strategy and accomplish the mission with your people. Objectives of the program:
  • Learn the three laws of leadership
  • Understand the relationship between trust and performance
  • Highlight role of the leader in shaping values
In his youth Wally Adamchik worked with his father and brother in construction. Both master craftsmen, they insisted upon and produced top-quality work. He learned more about excellence from his mother, who was the first woman to referee a basketball game at Madison Square Garden. At the Univ. of Notre Dame, Wally was the mascot where he led 65,000 people on every football Saturday. He has served the United States in the Marine Corps and was deployed throughout the world in training, peace-keeping and combat operations.

He is the President of FireStarter Speaking and Consulting and serves today as a consultant, speaker and author. His new book, NO YELLING-The Nine Secrets of Marine Corps Leadership, is getting rave reviews.

Enjoy The Ride (by Steve Gilliland, CSP)
www.stevegilliland.com
If you're tired of hearing the same old topics rehashed over and over again, Enjoy The Ride is the perfect session for you. Through sidesplitting humor and reality-tested techniques, Steve Gilliland, CSP, reveals the way to face conflicting demands in an unforgiving business environment that keeps getting tougher. From the beginning when he shows people how to reignite their passion, to the end with his compelling challenge to "never lose your focus," he releases an "explosion of enthusiasm" that is absolutely contagious. It is simple, clear and easy to grasp - yet profound! Fasten your seatbelt and hold on as one of America's most entertaining keynote speakers shows you how to Enjoy The Ride!

Steve Gilliland, CSP, is one of the most in-demand and top-rated speakers in the United States and Canada. Steve's motto is "If you take care of people, the business will follow." Implementing this principle, he has helped people grow their businesses and expand their lives by teaching them to rethink their work, their relationships and themselves. Steve launched his full-time speaking career and built a multimillion-dollar company on the same philosophy he expounds to his audiences. If you continually learn more about your company, your industry, your customer and yourself, you will always be a leader. You will be purpose-driven rather than process-driven, and you will make a difference. Steve learned great compassion for people and commitment to a hard-work and balanced-life ethic at the knee of his highly principled Christian mother.
