Missouri's newest AGC student chapter member was established January 2006. The LSTC Chapter is pride-driven and dedicated to improving the construction industry with knowledge, responsibility, quality and leadership. The LSTC AGC Student Chapter's goal is to further student knowledge of the construction industry through interaction and communication with business leaders. The Chapter has built a spirit of teamwork amount the diverse chapter members and also enhanced the community at large by developing the leadership and organizational skills of members. Chair, Construction & Civil Technology diane.heckemeyer@linnstate.edu Missouri Western State University (MWSU) AGC Student Chapter The AGC Student Chapter at Missouri Western State University was established on September 1, 1985. With support from Duane Kraft, the then Executive Director of AGC-Missouri, Dr. Virendra K. Varma, Ph.D., P.E., F. ASCE , Chairman and Professor, Department of Engineering Technology, founded the Chapter. The Chapter was conceived in the Spirit of Cooperation & Collaboration to help Missouri Western students grow in the company of construction professionals. The members of the Chapter are enthusiastic and energetic. The 4-Year B.S. degree construction program at Missouri Western prepares students to assume important roles in the construction industry, and emphasizes Construction Management in its curriculum. Goals The primary goal of the MWSU AGC Student Chapter is to instill the AGC values in students… Skill…Responsibility…Integrity. This is accomplished through engagement and interactions with the construction and business leaders at conferences, seminars, guest-lecture classroom settings, field trips, etc. Students are provided opportunities to build organization and leadership skills, and are encouraged to take an active part in community affairs to develop as responsible citizens.
