Speaker: Maren Fjord
Introduction to contracting including definitions, requirements, standard forms, and items typically addressed in contracts from a contractor’s point of view.
Maren Fjord is corporate counsel at Alberici Group. She is a licensed professional engineer and attorney. Maren received her Civil Engineering Bachelors and Masters degrees from Washington University. While finishing her thesis Maren joined Hayward Baker as a field engineer. Maren spent six years with Hayward Baker working on all aspects of geotechnical design and project management. While working at Hayward Baker Maren attended Saint Louis University’s evening law school program. During her last year at SLU, Maren joined the Construction Law Practice Group and Greensfelder, Hemker and Gale. Maren spent three years as an associate in the construction group representing contractors, owners, and design professional on a wide variety of construction matters including real time project advice, construction litigation, alternative dispute resolution and contract negotiations. Maren joined Alberici in 2014 and supports all legal aspects of the corporation and operation groups of Alberici Constructors and Flintco, LLC. Maren focuses on the enterprise’s ongoing litigation and arbitration matters and supports the Heavy Industrial, Water/Wastewater, Steel and Energy markets.
