Written Communication for Foremen & Entry Level Superintendents

This basic writing course focuses on creating clear, concise, and effective workplace communications to internal and external audiences. There will be a focus on creating empirical reports, jobsite journal entries, and field-to-office communication. Positive, negative, and persuasive messages will be discussed and examined. Through individual and group exercises, participants will learn how to improve their ability to create strong and pertinent written messages.
Class Schedule:
1st Hour – Construction Industry Guest Presenter -- Impact of Written Communication on Projects
2nd Hour – Writing Primer & Digital Messages
BREAK
3rd Hour – Journals & Status Reports
4th Hour – Neutral/Positive/Negative Message

Facilitator:
Rita Kiry began her collegiate teaching career in 1996, teaching Business and General Education classes. Prior to teaching, Ms. Kiry had a successful career in Marketing. Along with her husband, Ms. Kiry owns home remodeling and rental businesses. She earned her M.B.A. (International Business) and B.S. (Marketing) at Saint Louis University.
