Speaker: Michael Kennedy, Sr., Chairman, KAI Enterprises
Please join us for a discussion with Michael Kennedy, Sr., Chairman of KAI Enterprises. Since age 9, Michael Kennedy, Sr. wanted to be an architect. He became fascinated with construction watching homes being built in his Richmond Heights neighborhood. Despite a high school guidance counselor advising him in 1963 that schools of architecture “only took the cream of the crop and no African Americans,” Kennedy would go on to graduate from Washington University with a Masters Degree in Architecture. He would also become the first African American architect licensed in Missouri. Today, due to his vision, Kennedy is Chairman of one of the largest and most respected design/build firms in the Midwest, KAI Enterprises.
