Advocacy

The AGC of Missouri advocacy department represents our members on a variety of legislative issues of importance to the construction industry. Currently the AGC of Missouri actively represents our members in the Missouri State Capitol, St. Louis County Council and St. Louis City Hall. In the future, additional local and regional governments may also be added dependent on issues that arise.

Legislative Agenda

Each year, the AGCMO Governmental Affairs Policy Committee prepares its Legislative Agenda and presents it to the Board of Directors.  A hard copy of this agenda, as adopted by the Board of Directors, is mailed to all elected officials in Missouri’s Executive Branch, Senate and House as well as to members of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen and St. Louis County Council.  We encourage you to review this electronic version which will help you better understand the AGC’s position on significant legislative issues for our industry. Legislative Day Recap

Each year members of AGCMO travel to Jefferson City for our annual Legislative Day. Activities start on Tuesday night with dinner including AGC members and generally a few legislators.  Staff and the entire lobbying team also participate.  It's an evening of relaxed conversation and developing a more personal relationship with those in attendance.

Wednesday includes meetings with Republican and Democratic leadership from both the House and Senate and often also includes meetings with the Governor's office and Attorney General's office.

The Legislative Day event is only successful when we have members who are willing to make the time to participate – and it is a significant time investment.  We would like to personally thank those who make Legislative Day a priority on their calendar each year - without their participation, the event would be far less impactful.
