Topic: An IDEA for St. Louis
Economic Development for our region. City Foundry STL is the revitalization of historic industrial space, reinvented for a new era. The development will include food market, high-rise offices, apartments and retail creating an energetic innovation and cultural district that embodies the visionary spirit of St. Louis. Located in St Louis' burgeoning Midtown neighborhood, will be a new center for food, fashion, creativity and innovative thinkers.
Speaker: Steve Smith, Co-founder and CEO of Lawrence Group
Steve Smith is the co-founder and CEO of Lawrence Group. For more than 30 years, Steve has led the expansion of Lawrence Group from its roots as an architecture and interior design practice into a fully integrated services company which designs, builds, develops, owns and operates real estate. Committed to the redevelopment of St. Louis, Steve has led the development of more than $250 million in historic renovation over the last 10 years, including projects such as The Marquette Building, Park Pacific and Sun Theater. He is currently providing leadership for the $340 million City Foundry St. Louis redevelopment on the former Federal Mogul site. He serves as chair of Downtown St. Louis Inc. and is on the board of directors for the St. Louis Regional Chamber and SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital Foundation.
