Program Overview
Empowered is a 10-month leadership development program designed specifically for women in the construction industry. Created by Maria Guy—an experienced construction engineer and leadership development expert—in collaboration with AGC New Mexico, the program was built to address the real-world challenges women face in construction and provide practical tools for long-term success.
Today, AGC of Missouri is partnering with HiGHEST GOOD PERFORMANCE to bring this impactful program to the St. Louis market.
Empowered blends interactive workshops, peer collaboration, and real-world application to help participants grow in confidence, clarity, and leadership effectiveness. Developed through input from construction professionals, executives, and industry leaders, the program reflects the realities of today’s jobsite and workplace environments.

Laura Scheidhauer, founder of HiGHEST GOOD PERFORMANCE , is a leadership development expert who works with individuals and organizations to build confidence, strengthen communication, and navigate complex workplace challenges. She brings extensive experience delivering leadership programming within the construction industry.
She is joined by Justine Dugan, a leadership and organizational development expert known for her work in building inclusive, high-performing teams. Justine brings a strong background in strategy, culture, and people development, helping individuals and organizations unlock potential and drive meaningful change.
Together, they facilitate the Empowered program locally, delivering a dynamic, engaging learning experience grounded in real-world application.
