Committee Volunteer Opportunities for Members 2019

AGC of Missouri needs volunteers to fill several local committee openings. The committees with openings are listed below with details on how to sign up. Interested parties can respond to the contact indicated.

AGC / SITE / MSD Joint Committee
Purposes / Activities: This joint committee provides a forum to discuss issues and concerns of contractors currently doing work for or pursuing work with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District.  Committee’s intent is to foster improved working relationships and therefore improve the completed project.

The Design & Construction Technology Conference Advisory Committee
The Construction Technology Committee is tasked with planning educational events and hosting forums about construction technology
Group: Professional Development Group
Purposes / Activities:  Event coordination committee which originated from the Construction Technology Committee.
Meeting schedule:  As needed for each subcommittee
Meeting Location:  Construction Training School
Length of term: One year, renewable

Comments / Requirements:  Open to individuals interested in the advancement of technology in construction.

Construction Leadership Council
Purpose/Activities:  The CLC functions as a forum in which members can network, socialize, and exchange ideas on issues facing mid-career construction professionals.  The CLC is open to all interested AGC members with the need of a formal application process.

Young Executive Club
Purpose/Activities:  Functions as a forum in which members can network, socialize, and exchange ideas on issues facing mid-career construction professionals.  Assist with hosting golf tournament in July and PAC auction at Convention

Diversity & Inclusion Committee
Purposes / Activities: To increase diversity and inclusive of the business community and workforce in the construction industry.  Including, but not limited to business development, business capacity building and workforce recruitment and retention.

Estimating Forum
Purposes / Activities: A forum to discuss estimating issue in the construction industry.
Group: Membership Group
Meeting schedule: Every 2nd Friday of the month, 7:30 a.m. September to May.

Building Division Safety & Health Policy Committee
Purposes / Activities: Increase safety of workers and incident prevention through collaborative efforts and recognition, development, and sharing of effective techniques.

Meeting schedule: Monthly, third Thursday of month, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. (Breakfast billed)
Beginning date of appointment: 1/01/2018

Heavy/Highway Infrastructure Safety & Health Policy Committee

Human Resources Forum
Purposes / Activities: To provide an open forum for discussion of issues affecting human resources managers at AGC member firms.

Jurisdiction Committee
Purposes / Activities: Discuss jurisdictional issues among the various unions and attempt to decrease the number of job site disruptions due to jurisdictional disputes.

Membership Policy Committee
Purposes / Activities: Recruit new members. Make contacts with prospective members.  Retention efforts will be to contact existing members.

Comments / Requirements: You will be asked to make phone calls to prospective members & try to get appointments and accompany AGC rep on appointment.  Contact existing members as retention efforts dictate.

St. Louis Regional Permitting Task Force
Purposes / Activities: This committee concerns itself with permitting and code requirements primarily in St. Louis City and County.  Attempts to work as an advocate for contractors and other stakeholders to enhance and improve the permitting process to help economic development in the region.

Political Fund Raising – Golf Outing
Purposes / Activities: Plans golf outing event to raise money for the AGC of Missouri PAC

Purposes / Activities: Plans skeet/trap shooting events to raise money for the AGC of Missouri PAC

Specialty Contractor Council
Purpose/Activities:  To provide a better conduit of information between Specialty Contractors and Contractors and the Board of Directors.

Supplier/Service Provider Council
Purposes / Activities: Make a positive impact on the construction industry and support the AGC as an association by adding the SSP membership’s perspectives and expertise.

AGC/MoDOT Joint Bridge Committee
Purposes /Activities: Work closely with MoDOT on specific design & specification issues.

Comments/Requirements: Functions as a joint committee with MoDOT.  Representatives to work cooperatively in addressing MoDOT project specifications, Engineering Policy Guide, Job Special Provisions and policy and funding issues regarding construction and maintenance of MoDOT bridges.  AGC representatives are from contractor, specialty contractor and supplier companies actively engaged in MoDOT bridge projects.

AGC/MoDOT Joint Grading Committee
Purposes /Activities: Work closely with MoDOT on specific design & specification issues

Comments/Requirements:  Grading Committee: Functions as a joint committee with MoDOT representatives in addressing MoDOT project specifications, Engineering Policy Guide, Job Special Provisions and policy and funding issues related to grading contracts and subcontracts on MoDOT projects.  Also monitors US EPA erosion control stormwater requirements and their impact on Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans implemented by contractors on MoDOT and other projects.  AGC representatives are from contractors performing as prime contractors and grading subcontractors on MoDOT projects and suppliers to such contractors.

Environmental Committee
Purposes / Activities: Comprised of industry professionals who monitor EPA and Missouri DNR policies, regulations and proposed legislation to help ensure no adverse impacts to the construction industry.
